A short walk from our factory, 0.7 miles to be precise, is the installation of Poppies: Wave by artist Paul Cummins & designer Tom Piper. The display is part of the UK-wide tour of the Poppies from the Tower of London and is presented by Southend-on-Sea Borough Council and 14-18 NOW.

Located on the Thames Estuary, where the river meets the North Sea, Southend-on-Sea is a town of almost 180,000 people. It has the longest pleasure pier in the World stretching 1.3 miles from the shore to the deeper water in the middle of the estuary.

All-change at Hervé Engineering – new owners, new website, new approach. After 170 years under the control of the Hervé family, the last incumbent has decided to retire. The business has been bought by Michael Lloyd and myself, Howard Warrington. Both local to the area and have known the family and the company for many years.
