A little about the town where we’re based
Located on the Thames Estuary, where the river meets the North Sea, Southend-on-Sea is a town of almost 180,000 people. It has the longest pleasure pier in the World stretching 1.3 miles from the shore to the deeper water in the middle of the estuary. At its widest part it is some 6 miles from the Kent to Essex coast.
The actual town of Southend stretches for 7 miles along the north shore of the estuary. Road, rail and air links are excellent. The town is served by two direct train lines to London and for places further afield, EasyJet & Flybe offer connections from the recently developed Southend Airport www.southendairport.com to many locations in Europe. Whilst living in the shadow of London, Southend is fast becoming a destination in its own right.
Our factory is close to the coast, located in an area in the east of the town called Shoeburyness. This is almost 44 miles (70km) as the crow flies from Tower Bridge in London.
